The GREATest Of The Greats

The New Deal- In Response To The Great Depression

The New Deal was a series of programs that were enacted for the United States within the years of 1933 and 1936. The New Deal was made in response of The Great Depression to positively impact the economy. During the time peril, Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president of the United States.  Roosevelt suggested the three R’s: Relief, Recovery, and Reform. The programs that were created produced jobs that would be beneficial to the economy and nation as a whole.

Relief would be the first and short-term program that would halt the decline of the economy. The Relief program included five programs. The second “R” is recovery. Recovery includes the temporary programs that will strengthen the flow of the economy. The recovery program included 5 programs.Reform was the last section of programs that were meant to permanently  prevent future depressions. Reform also included five programs.

The New Deal may not have been the only thing that helped America get out of the Great Depression, but it was one of the main reasons why it ended.Relief, Recovery, and Reform have also done many things that helped. The New Deal increased consumption, which helped further the increase of  production, reducing unemployment, and ending the Depression. Most of all, Relief, Recovery, and Reform supported the people who would have otherwise been deprived during the Depression. Roosevelt made a good decision with creating the Relief, Recovery, and Reform programs in the New Deal.
